Group 7 - Designing Out Carbon

Working Group 7 – Designing Out Carbon (WG7) is our newest working group, focused on reducing embodied carbon through smarter design by designing out carbon at the source: minimising material quantities, not just substituting materials. The group brings together a diverse range of expertise from developers, government, builders, designers, and material suppliers to co-create practical, industry-ready solutions that reduce carbon across the building supply chain. WG7 intends to develop an actionable early-stage framework that maps the key levers available to each stakeholder, enabling meaningful emissions reductions through informed design decisions.
