Spotlight on Steel

The iron and steel industry contributes approximately 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions. To ensure a sustainable future, the industry must find ways to cut emissions in line with international goals to limit climate change.

The event focused on how the industry can support the steel sector to decarbonise including existing local and international initiatives, such as ResponsibleSteel™, the Net Zero Steel Pathway Methodology Project and the worldsteel StepUp™ Program.

Hudson Worsley, MECLA Chair, Co-Founder and Directer Presync, provides a brief introduction to the event and introduced our guest speakers. Access videos of their presentations, the presentation documents, and a Low embodied carbon steel brochure below.
